Revisiting old favourites

It all started with the Archive.

You come across an article in the newspaper about the Internet Archive. It didn’t pique your interest back then so you filed away the information in your brain for later. Who knew that later on, you would use the Archive to search for old blogs?

There’s something exciting about going back and reading blogs that have been deleted or gone, forever. You read the old posts, trying to piece them from memory. Underneath the excitement, there’s a sharp stab of nostalgia. You smile at the posts wistfully.

The undeniable feeling of regret comes washing over. That feeling that if you had known these blogs sooner or read them while you still had the chance. The Archive doesn’t offer much anyway, just a few snippets of posts gone forever.

You wish you had known the people behind them. You can feel their excitement pouring from the little snippets that you read. Because About pages can never really tell you about a person; it’s from their  words that you come to know what sort of a person they truly are.

As the clock ticks by, reminding you about all the tasks left for the day, you close the Archive. There’s always that little comfort in knowing that they will always be there to fall back on. Little old comforts.

Though there is joy in discovering new blogs and new people, you know that sometimes, just sometimes, you find solace in forgotten pieces of people who once lived their lives on the internet, just like you.

Review: Laughing Under the Clouds

I have like, ten emotions about this right now.

The story revolves around the Kumou brothers, Tenka, Soramaru and Chuutarou, who are in charge of the Cloud Shrine, which their family has safeguarded for generations. Their job was to ferry prisoners across a lake to a prison in the middle of a lake. Which was conveniently, in a village which was haunted by the Orochi, a monster who possesses a human vessel.

Title: Donten ni Warauthe spacelings

Mangaka: Kemuri Karakara

Volumes: 6

Genres: Shoujo, fantasy

In the eleventh year of the Meiji era carrying swords was forbidden by the government and those known as samurai were slowly fading away. However, there were plenty who didn’t like those changes taking place in Japan and inevitably the crime rates increased. The country’s only solution was an inescapable lake prison. Since the prison had no other way to access it except by water, the three boys of the Kumo family were assigned to transport the criminals to their new “home.” But…is that the only thing they were doing?

Spring ’16 wrap up!

I’m back with another anime post!

Last time I talked about my watch list for summer this year and honestly, I don’t know what to think of it! I’ve got a long list and I know I’ll be dropping a lot of shows but I don’t know which.

Spring is almost over and I think it’s been a good season. I had been super excited for it since January and yeah. I enjoyed it and didn’t like it as well.

My summer ’16 watch list!

Summer is here! Woo-hoo!

Except my vacation is over and I have exams to look forward too, ugh.

Stuff aside, I don’t know what to think of this season! I’m excited to see the diversity in shows (but shounen is missing? Humph) and my TBW (To Be Watched) list is growing steadily every time I visit Anichart!

Anime series I loved but never finished!

There’s this chance that once in a blue moon, I would pick up an anime series and watch it.

There’s also this chance that I will love it but never finish watching it.

I don’t know why this happens! Like, I would love the show to death BUT I never, ever finish it! I would leave it midway through and never pick it up again.
